Anky van Grunsven Admitted to the Hospital

Anky van Grunsven and SalineroThe highly pregnant double Olympic champion Anky van Grunsven has been admitted to the hospital after suddenly feeling unwell yesterday morning. Van Grunsven, who is in the final days of her pregnancy, was diagnosed with a mild case of pre-eclampsia and has to stay in the hospital until the baby is born.

Van Grunsven is pregnant with her second child and already went through serious complications during pregnancy of her first baby Yannick Janssen. Seven months in her first pregnancy, van Grunsven developed a severe case of pre-eclampsia and Yannick Janssen was prematurely born in November 2004.

The birth of Anky's second baby was already a few days overdue and doctors are currently closely monitoring Anky's and her baby's health.
