Anky van Grunsven Has Given Birth to a Baby Boy

Sjef Janssen and Anky van GrunsvenTwo months too early, Anky van Grunsven has given birth to a baby boy at the Maxima Medical Centre in Veldhoven, The Netherlands. Doctors at the hospital decided to start the delivery today because of sudden complications in the pregnancy. Anky and Sjef's son weighs only 830 grams, but his condition is stable. The baby has been named Yannick Janssen van Grunsven

Van Grunsven was submitted into the emergency room of the Bernhoven Hospital in Veghel on Monday November 22, 2004, after a routine check up at the gynaecologist's. Because of some complications, Anky was immediately submitted into the Bernhoven Hospital and then transported to the clinic in Veldhoven, where she gave birth today.

Anky's pregnancy had been seven months pregnant and there were never any complications until now. She won the individual gold Olympic medal in Athens being four months pregnant.
