Bonaparte Recuperating Well but Not to Show in Aachen

Heike Kemmer's Hanoverian gelding Bonaparte is recuperating well from the injury he sustained in the Grand Prix test at the 2005 European Dressage Championships in Hagen, Germany. Kemmer can pick up the training of her 12-year old gelding next week, but she announced that she will not to compete him at the 2005 CDIO Aachen

"In agreement with team vet Dr. Bjorn Nolting and chef d'equipe Holger Schmezer, I decided not to show in Aachen. You need a horse in top shape to be able to show at such a major competition with three important tests. I can't him in that shape in such a short preparation time," Kemmer said.

Bonaparte (by Bon Bonaparte x Consul) won the 2005 German Dressage Championships in Verden begin July, but at the 2005 European Dressage Championships he hit himself in the ring and got a wound on his right front leg, which got slightly infected later on. Kemmer had to withdraw from the Europeans right after she won team gold medal with the German team.
