Cherie and Miss Holstein No Longer Ridden by Karin
Rehbein
November 15, 2002
Karin
Rehbein had to deal with a serious set back, as horse
owner Gisela Carstens decided to take home her two stars
Cherie and Miss Holstein. Carstens, who lives in Hamburg
near Gestut Gronwoldhof where the two horses were boarded,
was no longer pleased with the training of Cherie and
Miss Holstein by Mrs Rehbein.
It was a tough decision for Mrs Carstens as both Cherie
and Miss Holstein truly excelled under Karin Rehbein.
Miss
Holstein became the 1998 German Young Horse Champion
as a six-year old under Rehbein's student Falk Rosenbauer.
In 2000, Rehbein herself rode the Prix St Georges Finals
of the Nurnberg Burgpokal and had started the Holsteiner
mare (by Romino) at Grand Prix level this year. Cherie,
a Hanoverian mare by Don Primero, won the 2001 World
Championships for Young Dressage Horses and was the
strongest competing horse at Prix St Georges level,
this year at the prestigeous CDI Aachen.
