Karin Rehbein and Cherie
Undisputed
winners in the small tour at the 2002 CDIO Aachen were
Karin Rehbein and her dark bay mare Cherie. Rehbein,
head rider of Gestut Gronwoldhof in Germany, steered
her mare to three top score tests. They won the Prix
St Georges with 76.75%, the Intermediaire I with 75.25%
and the Inter I Kur to Music with 78.14% and left all
competition far behind them. The Hanoverian bred mare
by Don Primero x Lanthan is a true Gronwoldhof product
reflecting the excellent breeding quality and top performance
level.
Throughout the 2002 show season, Rehbein and Cherie
have been scoring strong and proofed their top shape
at various competitions, including the national show
at Aubenhausen.
Yet
the combination already rose to stardom by winning the
6-year old division at the 2001 World Championships
for Young Dressage Horses in Verden, Germany. International
judge and young horse specialist Christoph Hess quoted
the following at the end of Rehbein's winning ride in
Verden. "During the first two minutes of her performance
we did not speak one word. Then my judging partner from
the Netherlands only said 'superb'. I hope you implant
this ride in your memory. You rarely get to watch a
ride like this", Christoph told the audience, "an almost
perfect demonstration of the co-operation of rider and
horse, just as you want to see it in this type of competition."
Rehbein and Cherie scored 9,8 with their final ride
in Verden. It gave them the overall victory which did
not come as a surprise, since Karin and Cherie had already
won the qualifying events with 9,0 and 9,5.
