Lisa Wilcox Leaves Gestut Vorwerk to Work in Switzerland

November 10, 2004

Lisa WilcoxAmerican Olympic dressage rider Lisa Wilcox has accepted an offer to work in a Swiss dressage stable and is leaving Gestut Vorwerk at the end of the year. Wilcox rose to international stardom aboard Vorwerk's Oldenburg breeding stallion Relevant. She contributed to the American silver team medal at the 2002 World Equestrian Games and the bronze team medal at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.

"Lisa received a very profitable offer, which we couldn't outbid if we wanted to secure the financial future of our stallion station," Gudula Vorwerk said. "We wish Lisa all the best in the future. Though we regret that she is leaving, we can only thank her for her collaboration and help these past years."

Wilcox on RelevantLisa Wilcox has been a long time rider for Gestut Vorwerk, but came into the spotlight when Nicole Uphoff left the station and Wilcox again received the ride over Relevant. She's been multiple Oldenburg Regional Champion, she won the Bundeschampionate aboard Royal Diamond and booked her biggest successes in the international ring, first on Rohdiamant and then on Relevant. She was currently campaigning Jazz Time and Roadster in the small tour and Relevant and Royal Diamond in the big tour.
