Lisa M. Wilcox and Rohdiamant
With
Carrie Schopf being the surprise Olympic contender on
the Florida scene, the Phoenix born Lisa Wilcox is dazzling
the crowds on European soil. With the approved Oldenburger
stallion Rohdiamant Wilcox scored her first 70% score
in the freestyle and 68% in the Grand Prix at the International
Stallion Show in Zwolle, the Netherlands. These top
scores bombarded her into one of the leading American
contenders aiming for an entry in the USET Olympic Dressage
Team for the Games in Sydney, September 2000.
Former wife of Grand Prix rider Jan Ebling, Lisa moved
to Germany in 1994 to train with the late Herbert Rehbein.
The three following years Wilcox often switched trainers
moving from Denmark to Germany back and forth. However,
in 1997 the notorious Gudula Vorwerk signed her up for
a steady position as trainer at Germany's leading stallion
farm "Vorwerk". Training at the side of double Olympic
Champion Nicole Uphoff, Wilcox collects valuable experience
in Cappeln, Germany, which renders her into a rider
with soft hands and a most gorgeous seat. Her 10-year-old
mount Rohdiamant (Rubinstein I x Inschallah AA) is considered
to be the most popular stallion in Germany.
