Iron Spring Farm's Akatschi Sold to Elisa Swanenberg
from The Netherlands
November 7, 2003
Iron
Spring Farm's black Hanoverian stallion Akatschi has
been sold to Elisa Swanenberg from The Netherlands.
Miss Swanenberg will be competing the 13-year old stallion
at FEI Young Riders level in Holland the upcoming 2004
show season. Akatschi is currently being kept in training
with Coby van Baalen, who is Elisa's trainer. Elisa
is aspiring a place in the Dutch Young Riders Team and
with a schoolmaster such as Akatschi her goal has become
very feasible.
Iron Spring Farm decided to sell the Hanoverian licensed
sire because he didn't perfectly fit into the farm's
breeding program. "Most people who look at our
stallions for breeding are interested in KWPN stallions,"
Iron Spring farm manager Meghan De Garay said.
Iron Spring Farm purchased the black sire in Germany
in 2000 being attracted to him because of his incredibly
interesting bloodline (Akzent II x Wenzel I x Shogun
xx), his superb stallion performance test results (10
on character and a 9 on temperament) and his show record
under Hartwig Burfeind.
For three years Akatschi was successfully trained and
competed at Intermediaire I level in the U.S.A. by Todd
Flettrich. He became Intermediaire 1 Reserve Champion
ABIC/USDF Championships in 2000 and placed second at
the 2003 Palm Beach Derby Series Kickoff.
As
Akatschi is still in the prime of his career, he deserved
to continue the glorious path in his life as sport horse
or breeding stallion. With new owner Elisa Swanenburg
in the saddle, Akatschi will once more rise to stardom
on the European continent. Elisa's family are to ceo
of the Swanenberg Steel Construction Group.
