KWPN Stallion Sonique Sold to the United States

September 20, 2004

SoniqueThe Hanoverian branded stallion Sonique has been sold to the United States. The 5-year old Sonique is licensed for the Hanoverian and KWPN verband. Sonique has been sold to the U.S. as a hunter horse, despite his dressage potential. He is by Wolkenstein II x Frappant x Matcho AA.

Sonique's Dutch owners Reinie Tewis, Lauw van Vliet and Jan van Kooten sold the horse because "he was not popular enough amongst breeders in The Netherlands and did not get the chance to prove himself as a breeding stallion," it said in a Horses.nl press release. None of the owners were available for further comment on the sale of this horse.
