Holsteiner Sire Cor Noir Passed Away
November 4, 2003
It
is with great sadness that Hilltop Farm announced the
passing away of their Holsteiner stallion Cor Noir.
The 16-year old Holsteiner sire was put down November
3, 2003, for humane reasons. Bred by Meike Voss, Cor
Noir is by the legendary foundation stallion Cor de
la Bruyere out of Paranka (by Marmor x Matador). Paranka
was also dam to one of the best dressage horses ever
alive, Alexandra Simons-De Ridder's Chacomo.
Hilltop Farm's manager Scott Hassler will always remember
Cor Noir's focus and power under saddle. "He was
a stallion who every day wanted to work and loved every
challenge. He had so much ability." At the 2001
Devon Breed Show Ria d'Or (Riverman x Cor Noir) won
the Filly Championship and the Young Horse Championship.
