World Cup Qualifier |
|
Isabell Werth and Satchmo won the World Cup Qualifier. |
Werth's student Hayley Beresford on Eduardo Fischer's Relampago do Retiro. Hayley premiered with a freestyle of her own. |
Nadine Capellmann and her Hanoverian gelding Elvis making progress under new-old trainer Balkenhol. Elvis was spirited and seems to be on a good way, but he made too many mistakes to score really high |
Dutch Jeanette Haazen on her A-team listed horse Nartan (by Jazz) |
Austrian Victoria Max-Theurer on her Olympic mount Falcao (by Feiner Stern) |
Above: Anja Plonzke on Tannenhof's Solero (by Hylos)
Right: Valentina Truppa on Chablis. Nice pair but what happened to the stirrups (too long?) |
|
Ellen Schulten Baumer on Donatha S |
Monica Theodorescu on Whisper |
Nathalie Zu Saeyn-Wittgenstein on Digby |
Dieter Laugks on Weltall. |
Unfortunately not on best form. Patrik Kittel and Floresco started the season so wonderfully in Münster last January 2008, but the now ten-year-old Westfalian stallion has made so many miles this season and in Frankfurt at the end of the season he lacked spark. We hope to see them fresh and on form again in 2009. |
2008 Nurnberg Burgpokal Finals |
|
|
Isabell Werth and the Westfalian El Santo (by Ehrentusch) won the 2008 Nurnberg Burgpokal Finals. Though Werth herself has aimed for the title with Der Stern, she had to scratch that horse for the final round due to a swelling to his leg. Werth still won with the bay El Santo, called "Ernie" at home.

Hayley Beresford on Rhapsodie Queen |
Ingrid Klimke on Damon Hill NRW |
Klimke was the favourite for the title, but in the finals, the Westfalian stallion lacked some collection in the canter despite the trot being outstanding. |
Ingrid Klimke, whose hands are always picture-perfect, demonstrated that for her, diversity in the training of a horse is not just a phrase. |
Ronald Luders on Kempke Hof's Sancisco |
Oliver Oelrich on Davenport |
Brigitte Wittig on Brioni |
Open mouths, blue tongues, bad connection. It also happened in Frankfurt. Holga Finken asked for Rusty's score to be struck from the record because the horse slipped his tongue over the bit. |
From the warm up ring other examples of a lack of throughness over the back and bad contact. |

2008 FEI Young Rider World Cup Final |
The winner: Diederik van Silfhout on Ruby |
Anna Kasprzak on Blue Hors Future Cup |
Carmen Naesgaard on Ciowa |
Laura Noyes on Syncro |
Jessica Rhinelander on Allende |
Sina Waldmeier on Karavell |
Maja Wieczorek on Pandor |
Jayden Brown on Widelo |
The Australian Jayden Brown did a truly lovely job with a fairly sophisticated freestyle in the B-Final. Polish Maja Wieczorek only got her horse a year ago and promptly moved on to the finals of the 2008 European Championships, became Polish Champion in September and now finished her YR career riding the WC A-Final. |
