June 30, 2008

The Belgian Equestrian Federation announced the horses that have been selected to represent Belgium at the 2008 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Verden, Germany, July 31-August 3, 2008.

Young Horses were able to win qualification points at three selection trials. The two highest ranked horses based on their scores at two selection trials qualified for Verden. They are:

5-year olds

  • Bjorn Vileyn on Delano H (BWP, Munchhausen x Wendekreis)
  • Dominique Mohimont on Winston (KWPN, Gribaldi x Jazz)
  • Reserves:
    • Nick Van Laer - Dayano (HOLST, Dolany x Linaro)
    • Andre De Vlieger - Waldemar S (KWPN, Lanciano)
    • Stefan van Ingelgem - Whisper Gold (KWPN, Gribaldi)

6-year olds

  • Vicky Smits - Chinatown's Dream (BWP, Pavarotti vd Helle x Purioso)
  • Amandine Prevost - Vledder M (KWPN, Osmium x Jet Set)
  • Reserves:
    • Dominique Mohimont - Valley (KWPN, Jazz x Wellington)

    • Nick Van Laer - Argentina (OLD, Argentinus x Township xx)
    • Lucy Cocchiarella Lucy - Caros vd.Kokerij (BWP, Saros)

Belgium is only allowed to send two horses per age division, which is pathetically low based on the oustanding performances the Belgians have produced at previous World Championships!
