Schneider and Camp Reign At Wickrath Bundeschampionate Qualifier

July 17, 2008

Dorothee Schneider on FlorineroDorothee Schneider and the black beauty Florinero and Lydia Camp and Kasimir were the winners of the Bundeschampionate Qualifier in Wickrath, July 11-13, 2008.

Aboard Sven Rothenberger's Hanoverian stallion Florinero (by Furst Heinrich), Schneider scored 8.0 in the 5-year old Dressage Horse Class and was the sole combination in the class to obtain a ticket to Warendorf. Luxembourg dressage rider Pascale Sax placed second with the Trakehner bred In Vita (by Buddenbrock) on a score of 7.3.

In the 6-year old Dressage Horse division, Lydia Camp reconfirmed her qualification by achieving yet another qualification score aboard Kasimir, a Trakehner branded Ivernel offspring. She scored 8.2. Last year's winner of the Bundeschampionate Bärbel Förster-Henrich placed second with a new horse Wincenta. The Westfalian bred mare by World Magic scored 7.60.

Eurodressage correspondent Barbara Schnell was in Wickrath to shoot photos of the Bundeschampionate classes as well as the Grand Prix and Nurnberg Burgpokal qualifier. See her photos below.

Photo Report Wickrath by Barbara Schnell

Dorothee Schneider on Florinero

Isabell Werth coached her rider Matthias Bouten aboard Krack 4 (by Krack C).

A lovely horse with much impulsion who will need time to grow into his frame.

Fie Skarsoe stayed close to her roots and showed Mabel -- by Münchhausen.

Luxembourg based Pascale Sax placed second aboard the Trakehner mare In
Vita (Buddenbrock x Kennedy).
... for organizer Rolf Ehlers, who has "run" Wickrath for the second time now, and has done much to improve the show

Nurnberg Burgpokal Qualifier in Wickrath

Won by Isabell Werth and El Santo (by Ehrentusch)

Stephanie Jansen on Pretender
Hayley Beresford on Rhapsodie Queen

Anna-Katharina Lüttgen showing Bon Jovi for the first time after a year's break

Fie Skarsoe on Tanja Kayser's Doreen

Heiner Schiergen on FS Lord Loxley

Dorothee Schneider & Forward Looking won the preliminary test for the Burgpokal qualifier but couldn't quite live up to the promise in the actual qualifier. Still, being true to the horse's name, Dorothee took it with a smile -- "Forward" is only seven years old after all.

Grand Prix

The Grand Prix was won by Dorothee aboard Kaiserkult, the Trakehner licensed stallion with whom she won the Bundeschampionate when he was a six-year old.

Anna-Katharina placed 2nd with Lamborghini, her eight-year-old Holsteiner gelding with whom she is qualified for the MedienCup finale in Donaueschingen.

Anders Dahl and Bukowski (by Briar)

In the Grand Prix, Anders Dahl (coached by Fiona) rode Bukowski, a lovely nine-year-old Briar-offspring. It was only the horse`s fourth competition, and it showed that he still needs to grow some "show nerves", but this was very promising

Fiona Bigwood and her 8-year-old Don-Larino-offspring Don Lorean showed the nicest piaffe of the whole Grand Prix -- another young horse lacking experience but showing much promise. They could have scored higher, had the judges seen what was there and not just what wasn't.
