The German Rhineland area is one of the most important areas for pony breeding and FEI pony dressage in Germany. Every year, the Rhineland riding society organizes a Pony Talent Search competition in Hünxe, where new combinations can present themselves and qualify for the Rhinish Preis der Besten qualifier in Langefeld. The Pony Talent Search is the first big pony event of the year for the Rhinish riders. The event in Hünxe took place February 23-25, 2007.

Eurodressage's German photographer liasion Barbara Schnell attended the Talent Search and took a few snap shots. She wrote: "this year, the show featured some interesting new combinations, because it is the first year in which the Rhinish Pony Team will have to do without its long-time stars Dulcia & Lydia Camp and Annabel Frenzen."

Viktoria Braun was the event's big winner. A year ago, the 13-year-old took over the black stallion D'Artagnon from former owner and Rhinish Vice-Champion Maria Theussen. Since then, she's been training with Stefanie Meyer-Biss (trainer of Dornik B, Deinhard B), and now their steady work was rewarded with a very smooth performance that gained them a score of 68,51% in their first FEI test ever -- and a ticket to the Preis der Besten qualifier in Langenfeld next month.
Alina Sievers and Dolly are members of the Rhenish team and as such, they are automatically set to compete at the qualifier.	Last year Annabel Freunzen rode Dance of Joy (by Don't Worry) in the BuCha finals, this year, he's helping younger sister Michelle getting started in the pony scene.
Bundeschampionate finallist Pegasus B (by Pan Tau B) under his new rider Juliette Piotrowski. This is another pair that is only getting started but already showed promise and sportsmanship.
A pair that is still very "green" but showed a lot of promise and potential: Florine Kienbaum and her gorgeous Donnertraum.
Last year Dornik Double was a member of the German A-team under Bernice Hoogen, now his new owner Theresa Bausch will ride him in Langenfeld.
Stefanie Keens is a member of the Rhinish team with Diamond Bino. Because the pony is currently ill, Keens rode his brother Dustin S -- and not didn't she get a ticket to compete in Langenfeld with him as well, but she also would have won the event's "cutie award", had there been such a thing. Dustin is an absolute delight to watch, he looked 'at play' much more than at work in the arena.
