Wynton, Johnson, Dreamcatcher Win Second Leg 2007
KWPN Stallion Competition
December 17, 2007
After the first leg in Hengelo, the 2007-2008 KWPN/KNHS
Stallion Competition continued last weekend in Weert,
The Netherlands. The winners of the three classes were
licensed stallions Wynton, Johnson and Decor Dreamcatcher.
Madeleine Witte-Vrees won the L-level class with the
black Wynton (by Jazz x Matador II) who was praised
for his electric hind leg. Wynton scored 89 points
and beat Pavo Cup champion Westpoint (Jazz x Michelangelo)
under Emmelie Scholtens. This pair achieved 88 points
and placed ahead of the Westfalian licensed Rock Forever
(by Rockwell x Landstreicher) under Wiebke Stommel
(86 pts).
At M-level, Hans Peter Minderhoud and the bay Johnson
(Jazz x Flemmingh) scored the highest with 83.5 points.
Especially the canter work of this young stallion stood
out. Minderhoud was unable to compete the Pavo Cup
winner Vivaldi in Weert as the stallion is
recovering from colic surgery he underwent last Thursday.
Vivaldi won the M-level class at the first leg of the
KWPN Stallion Competition in Hengelo. Imke Schellekens-Bartels
and the black Hunter Douglas Voice
(by De Niro x Rohdiamant)
landed
a second
place with 83 points. Kirsten Beckers and Broere Valdez
(Houston x Jazz) were third with 78.5 points.
At Z-level, Mirelle van Kemenade and the Oldenburg
bred Dreamcatcher (Day Dream x Rubinstein) reigned
supreme once again. The beautiful dark bay stallion
scored 168 points and beat Edward Gal on United (Krack
C x Partout) who scored 162.5 points. Kirsten Beckers
and Broere Ufo (Metall x El Corona) were third on 152
points.
