2005 CDIO Aachen
CHIO Sales: Ehrentanz I daughter Evita for Isabell Werth
Aachen press release -- The CHIO Sales, jointly
organised by the Rhineland and Westphalian Studbooks
got off
to
a flying
start.
25 selected, three to five-year-old, talented dressage
horses are up for sale. Four horses had already changed
owners by Wednesday lunchtime. Clients from Spain purchased
Falconet, a Florestan x Rhodos son for a six-digit
Euro sum. The dark bay beau was bred at the Babiacki
(Rees) Stud in the Lower Rhine/Germany. The four-year-old
gelding is due to compete at the German Young Horse
Championships next week under the rider Stefanie Steinhauf.
The Ehrentanz I daughter, Evita, has also found a new home at Isabell Werth's Stables in Rheinberg. The three-year-old bay descends from the thoroughbred Kronenkranich xx on the dam's side and was born at Dr. Wilhelm Maaßen's famous stud in Issum, Germany. The branded Westphalian Don Bedo son, Dixieland, bred by Heinrich-Bernhard Wulf (Möhnsee) will be moving to Bonn. The fourth horse sold so far is also by the champion stallion Don Bedo. The five-year-old mare, Dornröschen, out of a Wendekreis mare (Breeder: Horst von Wülfing (Wachtberg), was sold to Switzerland.
The CHIO Sales have been an integral part of the tournament in Aachen since 1987. At the time, the Rhineland Breeding Association asked their Westphalian colleagues if they could organise together a sales event for the breeders in Aachen. The CHIO Sales was the first event in NRW to found the highly successful cooperation between the two breeding associations. They have been jointly organising auctions and stallion grading shows for years.
