CDI-W 's Hertogenbosch
Grand Prix Exceptionally Judged by Four; Withages
called back by Hospitalized Husband
March 23, 2003
The
Grand Prix leg of the ninth World Cup Qualifying competition
in 's Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands, was exceptionally
judged by four judges. At the beginning of the Grand
Prix, the panel of judges consisted in Mr. Enzo Truppa
(ITA) at E, Mr. Ghislain Fouarge (NED) at H, Mariette
Withages (BEL) at C, Mrs. Francis Verbeek-van Rooy (NED)
at M and Mr. Gustav Svalling (SWE) at B.
By the time that the Dutch Imke Schellekens was to
ride, Mrs Withages received a phone call that her husband
had a car accident and had been hospitalized. Mrs Withages
left the scene immediately, resulting in a recalculation
of the scores, based on four judges (all C-scores were
dropped). Marlies van Baalen won the class riding
Idocus.
Raymond Withages had a car accident on his way to Mol,
Belgium, for a training job. He is not severely injured,
but will remain hospitalized for a few days. Fortunately,
Mr Withages is recouperating fast and will be going
home soon.
