World Championships for Young Dressage Horses
Poetin and Fürst Heinrich, 2003 World Young Dressage
Horse Champions
August 17, 2003
Poetin
under Kathrin Meyer zu Strohen and Fürst Heinrich under
Holga Finken are the names of the new World Champions
of young dressage horses. The two final decisions of
these championships were made on Sunday. Two thrilling
competitions in the Verden stadium decided on the new
champions of five and six year old dressage horses.
In the qualification on Friday, the five year old Westphalian
stallion Fürst Heinrich achieved a third place.
On Sunday, Holga Finken from Kirchwalsede (Rotenburg
administrative district) presented the stallion, owned
by the Sprehe stud, in an almost perfect way: With a
final score of 9,30, he was the undeniable winner of
this division. The Dutch stallion Hilltop Rosseau under
Nicolette van Lierop won the silver medal, the Württembergian
black stallion FBW French Kiss under Katrin Burger the
bronze medal.
Poetin
from the Brandenburg National State Stud under Kathrin
Meyer zu Strohen from Hoya already led the qualification
in the division of six year old dressage horses and
did not concede this position in the final. With a final
score of 9,26, she was the undisputed winner of this
competition. Poetin was already the 2000 Bundeschampionate
Winner and 2001 Reserver Bundeschampionate Champion.
The Dutch stallion Painted Black (by Gribaldi) under
Anky van Grunsven won the vice-championship title, the
Oldenburg mare Rose Noir under Julia-Katharina von Platen
the bronze medal.
