The
2003 European Pony Championships take place at Necarn
Castle, Irvinestown in County Fermanagh in Northern
Ireland from July 22 to 27, 2003.
Northern Ireland Dressage are responsible for recruiting
volunteers for the European Pony Dressage Championships.
They are looking for writers, stewards and gate attendants.
Dressage Ireland would like to see as many members as
possible assist our northern colleagues in running this
one off event and it provides you with an opportunity
to see the top european pony riders at first hand.

The 2003 F.E.I Pony European Championships were officially
launched in Irvinestown, Co. Fermanagh today. Northern
Ireland will host the Championships for the first time
in the 25 year history this summer at Necarne Castle
in County Fermanagh from the 22nd-27th July. Chairman
of Fermanagh District Council, Councillor Gerry Gallagher
said, "The council is delighted that the F.E.I Pony
European Championships are to be held in Fermanagh this
year. The magnificent setting and facilities at Necarne
provide a suitable venue for this most prestigious event
in the equestrian calendar. I welcome all the competitors,
supporters and visitors to the County."
Introduced
in 1978, the F.E.I Pony European Championships provide
competition at the highest level for pony riders aged
between 12 and 16 years old. The Championships embrace
the three Olympic Equestrian disciplines of Dressage,
Show-Jumping and Eventing with participants competing
for both team and individual medals in each of the three
categories. Approximately 130 competitors will represent
13 countries in the Championships and teams from Ireland,
Great Britain, Denmark, Holland, Belgium, Sweden, Germany,
Italy, France, Spain, Switzerland, Poland and Greece
will converge in Fermanagh bringing along a large number
of supporters.
