Broere Jazz and Broere Norway, A Legacy Alive
It doesn't happen that often that both father and son,
no sire and offspring, compete at the same show the
same day. The Zwolle International Stallion Show, however,
is a perfect occasion for such small surprises to happen.
Broere Norway and Broere Jazz are two liver chestnut
licensed KWPN stallion that are mirror reflections of
each other. Two one is the young rising talent, the
other is the recently established Grand Prix sire.
 Broere
Noway made his career break through in 1999 at age 4.
The unknown elegant stallion won the Pavo Cup Finals
in Ermelo under Liseon Kamper and were immediately the
center of attention. While Norway (by Jazz x Ulft) was
refused at the stallion licensing the year before, in
2000 he got accepted without problems due to his gained
status as a competition horse. Norway went on to compete
at the 2000 World Championships for Young Dressage horses,
before he switched riders. In 2001 former Dutch Young
Rider Kirstin Beckers took over the reins and is now
steering Norway to a potential Prix St Georges career.
At the CDI Zwolle, Norway scored 66.19% (3rd place)
in the first round, but fell back to 6th place with
a mediocre 59.46% in the finals. Nevertheless, Norway
and Beckers are an interesting pair to follow up.
 Norway's
sire Jazz made his second appearance in the Grand Prix
ring under his steady rider Tineke Bartels. Jazz is
an impressive appearance. His souple basic gaits are
a pleasure to the eye and his confirmation is appealing.
Yet, the Grand Prix exercises are not as confirmed as
one hopes them to be, but Jazz clearly showed potential
at the CDI Zwolle. In the Grand Prix, Jazz (by Cocktail)
scored 67.00% and placed third. In the Grand Prix freestyle,
the individual finals for the Essent Best Stallion Class,
he maintained his third position, but pushed up the
score to a magical 74.04%. Fortunately for Bartels to
have such a nice mount at her disposal, as she hasn't
got a second Grand Prix horse at her disposal anymore.
