Stars
The
Preis der Besten in Germany, is an exclusive elite competition
for FEI pony, junior and young riders in Germany. At
the beginning of the show season, the young riders have
to show what they are worth at the Preis der Besten
qualifiers for an entry ticket in the finals at Warendorf.
This year the finals run from 24th to 26th May, 2002
at the DOKR-FN Equestrian centre in Warendorf. The Preis
der Besten competition is an important early qualification
competition for the European Championships for Pony,
Junior and Young Riders that are always held in the
summer.
At the 2002 Preis der Besten qualifiers in Olfen, Kronberg
and Affalterbach, the German dressage scene got to see
the new combinations for the 2002 show season. In Affalterbach,
youth riders from the provinces of Baden Wurttemberg
and Bavaria had to opportunity to display the experience
and knowledge they gained with their horses over the
winter season. In the Pony division, the 13-year old
Felicitas Kirschner excelled twice aboard the 9-year
old Going East. In the Junior riders class, Jessica
Werndl dominated first and second place with Nokturn
and Bonito. Tobias Wilmes and Samson were invincible
in the young riders division.
Olfen was the setting for a new victory for Annika
Fiege aboard the former European Pony Champion Konrad.
Her chestnut Weser Ems pony Konrad (by Constantin) is
one of Germany's top dressage ponies who won many blue
ribbons under first riders Kira and Nicholas Kroncke.
In the Junior rider class, former pony rider Carde Meyer
proved her talent also aboard a large warmblood horse.
With Akribie, Meyer won both junior rider tests. Sister
Svenja Irina Meyer won one test with Momo in the young
riders division, but the second test was won by Maria
Rohe aboard Donna Doria.
In Kronberg, the PDB candidates of the provinces Hessen,
Rhineland and Saarland gathered for the qualifier. Matthias
Rath had an easy victory aboard Ann Kathrin Linsenhoff's
Grand Prix mount Red Liner in the junior riders class,
while Dorothea Rohde and Rapino won both tests in the
young riders division.
