Australian Dressage Team for 2002 World Equestrian
Games Selected
The
National Dressage selectors have selected the team of
4 riders and horses to contest the 2002 World Equestrian
Games to be held in Spain from 11th to 16th September.
The team is the same as the one that placed 6th at the
Sydney Olympic Games, which was the highest ever team
placing at an Olympic or World Games by an Australian
team.
The team for WEG is:
Kristy Oatley-Nist and Rosemount Wallstreet
Mary Hanna and Limbo
Ricky MacMillan and Crisp
Rachael Sanna/Downs and Yardley Aphrodite
Travelling reserve:
Heath Ryan and GV Stirling Stilton
The Australian based horses depart from Sydney on 14th
August and travel to Gronwohldhof in Germany to train
under National coach Clemens Dierks. To fine tune preparations
the team will compete at the Munster national show from
28th to 31st August before flying to Spain on 7th September.
