Triumph for Nadine Capellmann and Farbenfroh
The
reply came promptly and set a challenge: Nadine Capellmann
(Aachen) triumphed in the "Uniroyal-Preis - Grand Prix
Special" with a superb moving Farbenfroh and received
1708 points. Second, with two points less, came Olympic
team gold medallist Ulla Salzgeber (Bad Wörishofen)
with Rusty. Third place went to Heike Kemmer (Isernhagen/1606)
with Albano ahead of Alexandra Simons-de Ridder (Aachen)
with Chacomo. Best foreign rider was Rafael Soto from
Spain in fifth place with his Andalusian horse Invasor.
He beat Isabell Werth (Rheinberg/1760) who rode Antony
FRH. In total 38.000 spectators watched the competitions
at the "World Equestrian Festival - CHIO Aachen 2001"
in the Aachener Soers. In the evening the doors were
opened for the "CHIO-STAWAG-Night". "After a result
as this, one aimes for a medal at the European Championships,"
admitted a happy Nadine Capellmann. Three days earlier
she was not so happy as her Farbenfroh started off really
well, but got to excited during the test and finished
in fifth place. "We thought about the cause, and I think
we found it," explains the rider. The chestnut gelding
had hooks on his teeth and they hurt his mouth. "His
teeth were flooded and today he performed great. It
was the best test to date. All showed a wonderful lightness,"
said the girl from Aachen, who, together with Ulla Salzgeber,
is favourite in the "Preis der Deutsche Bank AG - Der
Große Dressurpreis von Aachen", the Grand Prix Free
Style to Music.
