German Young Horse Championships
Placido's Perfection
Einstein
could make an easy formula out of the latest happenings
at young horse competitions. It's almost the same, "simple
thing as E= MC², namely:
Ulf Moller + Horse = Victory.
Placido, a Hanoverian show jumping horse by Prestige
Pilot x Watzmann, would never have won without the riding
qualities of Dr. Ulf Möeller. A former member of the
Verden Auction team for years, Möller gained valuable
experience riding youngsters in the Hanoverian auctions.
By moving to the stables of Ullrich Kasselmann, Möller
got more time to compete and it seems to be paying off,
if one looks at the achievements of his mounts Sandro
Hit, Donovan Baily and Placido. With an absolutely flawless
test, Placido scored 9.8 in the 5-year-old Dressage
Horse class and took home the champion's laurel.
Favourite
of the audience, the Oldenburg gelding Ronaldo, made
three important mistakes in the final and that took
away all chances for gold. Susanne Miesner rode her
Rohdiamant x Westminster dark bay gelding to a 9.5.
In the qualifier, Miesner collected the same score and
won, but in the finals she could not uphold the lead.
Her rein back was not diagonal, the walk pirouettes
were not fluent enough and Ronaldo lost rhythm in the
counter canter. Third place was for Contina, a Caprimond
x Romadour II Rhinelander bred mare owned by Eva Nolden/Möller
and ridden by her husband, Dr. Ulf Möller. Fourth place
went Brigitte Wittig on her own bred Balailaika W, an
Oldenburg mare by Breitling x Cardinal xx.
