Latimer Keeps the Trakehner Flame Alive
While
year after year Trakehner horses seem to have more difficulties
to capture the big gold at the Bundeschampionate, this
year they were lucky to have such a great representative
as Latimer. Trakehner blood flows through the veins
of many participants, but only few of them actually
represent their breed. It was Latimer, a pure bred Trakehner
by Saint Cloud x Caprimond, who won gold in the 4-year-old
stallion class. Hans-Jürgen Armbrust rode Latimer to
9.2 overall winning score. Owned by Stallion Station
Böckmann, Latimer received a 10.0 for his conformation,
and a big 9.5 for his walk. The black stallion could
have shown a bit more shoulder freedom in trot (8.5)
but his canter was overall to die for (9.0), due to
his balance. Even though picture perfect Latimer scores
high as a young stallion, his future as an upper level
dressage horse in yet undetermined.
