Jumping Amsterdam Live on the Net
Jumping
Amsterdam, the equestrian competition which has been
chosen by the International Trainers Club as The Best
Indoor Concours Hippique of 1998, is the most diverse
and exciting indoor show jumping and dressage event
in the Netherlands. The CDI/CSI-W will be held this
year from 2nd to 5th December 1999 in the Amsterdam
RAI buildings. Besides the traditional parts like national
and international show-jumping and dressage, there will
be various shows and competitions in other equestrian
disciplines as driving and western. Jumping Amsterdam
is well known by the social promovillage with lots of
shops, restaurants and cosy places.
For the dressage enthusiasts the organization of Jumping
Amsterdam has set up a clinic show with Tineke and Imke
Bartels, Arjen Teeuwissen and Anky van Grunsven. Most
famous riders will be present in Amsterdam and compete
in the World Cup qualifier competitions show-jumping
and dressage. However only three days before the launch
of the competition Holland's second most favourite rider
Coby van Baalen cancelled her
entry with Olympic Ferro. What she claims as sparing
him for the CDI-W Geneva, is more considered to be an
exuse to avoid challenging Olympic Bonfire. For Germany,
Ulla Salzgeber and Heike Kemmer sent in their entry
form, while Christine Traurig and Etienne will represent
the U.S. at Jumping Amsterdam.
