Poulin kids excelling in West Palm Beach
Region
Three Young Riders score high at 1999 Palm Beach Dressage
Derby. Judges Gribbons and Rockwell unanimously agreed
on Gwen Poulin's brilliant performance in the Young
Riders team test. With Fuerst Paldi, a dashing Westphalian
by Fittipaldi out of Rabea (by Romanow), Gwen received
a nine on one of her pirouettes. Scoring 70.641% Gwen
left all other competitors far behind her. Sister Kathy
Poulin, shown here at the 1998 North American Young
Riders' Championships, came in second with a score of
64.487%. She rode her mount Herb Commander (TB by Herb
Water) who already captured a fourth individual place
at the 1998 North American Young Riders' Championships.
Other region three rider Melinda Brown established a
score of 62.6% with Hanoverian Via Mala at Southern
Comfort Dressage. With one more selection show to go,
the region three team looks promising for the 1999 NAYRC
at Tempel Farm in Wadswordth, Illinois. Maybe this year
they will make it for the gold?
