Georg Theodorescu Resigns from IDTC
73-year-old
Georg Theodorescu from Fuechtershof, Germany, resigned
from the International Dressage Trainers' Club. Theodorescu,
one of the world's most renowned dressage trainers,
stated that all concepts of the 'true' dressage art
are being mixed by the modern trainers. "Clear definitions
along the principles of Classical Dressage on how a
piaffe, a circle, a walk should look like are totally
confusing for them. There is no straight line anymore,"
he said. Fellow world leading trainer Georg Wahl commented
as well on his resignation. "He should have left three
years ago when I resigned. Modern dressage training
has nothing more to do with Classical Dressage," Wahl
said in a brief interview.
Georgh Theodorescu is a native Rumanian who fled to
Germany in 1959. Certified as a lawyer, Theodorescu's
best performing student is without a doubt his daughter
Monica who won the Olympic team gold medal twice. In
1991 Georg Theodorescu was voted Trainer of the Year
by his colleges of the IDTC.
