Wendy van der Helm Moves to Belgium to Establish Training Stable
October 21, 2008
Former Dutch young rider Wendy van der Helm has moved to Belgium to establish a private training stable with her fiance Maurice van Vliet. For some months now, Dutch dressage rider Van der Helm has been living in Hoogstraten, Belgium, and founded Van Vliet Stables, where Wendy will give lessons and train and sell horses.
Van der Helm achieved numerous international successes as a young rider and senior. She has successfully campaigned seven different horses at small tour level, while her partner Maurice won team bronze at the 2001 European Young Riders Show Jumping championships in Gijon, Spain. Together they aim at building a professional performance stable for dressage and show jumping. Van der Helm also teaches private lessons at home in the Antwerp and Breda area.
Wendy gained her international fame aboard her own KWPN licensed stallion Inspekteur (by Darwin x Amor) and has been training with Dutch Olympian Coby van Baalen for ten years. You can check out her stable at www.vanvlietstables.com
