Geert-Jan Raateland's Unterwelt Sold to Great Britain
October 5, 2007
Dutch young rider Geert-Jan Raateland sold his horse Unterwelt to Great Britain. The 10-year old Belgian warmblood gelding by Weltmeyer x Lugano van La Roche will be ridden by the 18-year old British young rider Catherine Abberley.
Raateland competed at his last Young Riders show at the CDI-YR Herentals a few weeks ago. "Considering my age (21), it was my last Young Riders competition. We decided to sell "Paco" after that show. He's a very good small tour horse but misses talent for the Grand Prix movements. Now that I'm finished with Young Riders level, I want to achieve more than just small tour. We've started our search for nice young horses," Raateland told the Dutch magazine De Hoefslag.
