Annemiek van der Vorm to Ride Scandic
January 2, 2006
Stallion
station De Watermolen announced that Annemiek van der
Vorm will be taking over the ride on the KWPN
stallion
Scandic. The chestnut stallion lost his rider Remy
Bastings a month ago as Bastings decided to leave
the station to go independent.
De
Watermolen
has
been looking long for a new rider for their
top stallion and have hired Van der Vorm to do the
job.
Van der Vorm, who has been employed at Hof Kasselmann
in Hagen the past year, will be working for both
De Watermolen and Team Nijhoff. She'll be in charge
of training and competing Scandic (by Solos Carex x
Amiral) and Riverdance (Wolkentanz x Hill Hawk xx).
The KWPN website reported that Annemiek might also
be riding the KWPN licensing champion Johnson (Jazz
x Flemmingh).
Annemiek van der Vorm has been one of the most successful
Dutch young riders the past decade. She won twice individual
silver and team gold at the European Junior/Young Riders
Championships and was Rabobank Talent of the Year 2001.
