On Top Sold to Leida Collins-Strijk
February 15, 2005
Judith Scholte has sold her FEI horse On Top to FEI rider Leida Collins-Strijk. The bay KWPN gelding On Top is by Jet Set x Pericles and is nine years old. The new owners of On Top are the Collins family, Reesink Horses and Tim Coomans. Scholte and On Top became the 2004 Dutch Prix St Georges champions and they were well on their way to Grand Prix.
Leida Collins-Strijk, who recently relocated to the Netherlands with her husband Tim Collins, was in urgent need of a top FEI horse, as her goal is to make a come back on the international show scene. On Top will be her partner in this new career.
Scholte purchased On Top as a foal and trained him to Grand Prix level herself. "It hurts to let On Top go," said Scholte, "but a sale was pending for a long time and we already postponed it as much as we could. It is a big loss to me because I loved him, but I have my own family and the risk it too high to keep such a horse. I'm very glad On Top stays in The Netherlands, so that I can keep up with his career."
Scholte has one upcoming talent, a 4-year old named Summer (by Darlington).
