Over and Out for Jeanette Haazen's Nartan ?

May 13, 2005

Jeanette HaazenDutch equestrian magazine De Hoefslag reported that Jeanette Haazen's small tour horse Nartan is not recovering well from the severe injury he sustained after being kicked by stall mate Rockefeller. It is uncertain whether will Nartan will ever appear in the show ring again. The KWPN gelding Nartan (by Jazz x Le Faquin xx) got injured at his hind leg having received a kick from Rockefeller during a hack.

By losing Nartan for competition sport, Haazen loses her most promising upcoming FEI horses. "Nartan was a world class horse. One week before the accident I rode a Grand Prix test with him at home and I was telling myself, "Anky, this time you're not lucky." Oh well, the only one who's not lucky is me," Haazen confessed to De Hoefslag.

Aboard Nartan, Haazen competed with success at several CDI's in Europe in 2003 scoring in the high 60s. In 2001, the pair showed in the 6-year old division at the World Young Horse Championships in Verden, Germany
