Marlies van Baalen Wins "Equitation Prize"
at CDN Meppen
May 21, 2003
At
the German national dressage competition in Meppen,Marlies
van Baalen suprisingly won the "Equitation Prize"
for best seat and riding style. Riding the Nurnberg
Burgpokal Qualifier with former World Champion Laurentianer,
Van Baalen placed third with 69.83%.
Trainer Johann Hinnemann was very pleased with this
prize. "When such riders as Karin Rehbein and Lisa
Wilcox compete in the same class as Marlies, and Marlies
wins it, that means something!," Hinnemann said.
Karin Rehbein won the Nurnberg Burgpokal qualifier
aboard the Hanoverian mare Cherie. With 70.83%, she
beat Holga Finken aboard Wanesco (70.44%).
