New Facility for Arjen Teeuwissen

The Dutch Bronze Medallist at the 1999 European Championships, Arjen Teeuwissen, has found a new facility for his dressage horses. Teeuwissen is moving from his beautiful Fort Oudaen in 's Gravenwezel, Belgium, to a stable in Zoersel, Belgium.

Teeuwissen moved to 's Gravenwezel, Belgium, in 1997, where he transformed an old war fortress into an exclusive dressage stable. Fort Oudaen, the name of the fortress, lies in a protected nature area in Belgium meaning that Teeuwissen is not allowed to build an indoor arena. "We live in a sea climate in Belgium and we have rain almost 9 out of 12 months. We can't do without an idoor arena," Teeuwissen said.

After the final refusal of building permit for an indoor arena, the quest for a new facility started. Teeuwissen and his life companion Frank Garristen were decided upont staying in Belgium as they love the bourgeois life-style of the Belgian people. They found their new premises in Zoersel, only ten minutes away from their old barn. The purchase certificate has already been signed but they are still waiting for the results of a soil research.
