Leida Strijk's Magic Michael Humanly Put Down

Magic Michael, one of the three top horses of Dutch dressage rider Leida Strijk, had to be humanly put down. Michael slipped during a normal grooming session and although nothing seemed wrong, a few days later Michael refused to stand up. When special X-rays were taken, the veterinarion located a hip fracture. Magic Michael had to be put down to relief him of his suffering.

Strijk, who is living in England, returned to Holland for a short visit only two weeks ago. She presented the licensed KWPN breeding stallion Kennedy at the 2001 KWPN Stallion Licensing Days.
