Andiamo Passed Away
Sven
Rothenberger's debut Grand Prix horse, Andiamo, passed
away at age 24 at his farm Gestut Ehrlenhof in Germany.
The black gelding was Rothenberger's winning 1990 World
Cup Final mount. Born in 1977, Andiamo was bred by Christian
Andersen from Viborg, Germany. Sired by the Danish stud
May Sherif, he was out of Jytte (by Caruso). German
rider Otto Hofer trained Andiamo until 1989 when Rothenberger
took over the reins. The combination was extremely successful
in the World Cup qualifying competitions. Their extensive
list of achievements included victories at the CDI's
op Neumunster, Frankfurst, Stuttgart, 's Hertogenbosch
and Mondorf les Bains. Andiamo was 24 year old.
