CHIO Aachen Proclaimed Best International
Outdoor Show by L´Année Hippique
November 26, 2007
The World
Equestrian Festival, CHIO Aachen has again been elected
as best international outdoor event of
the year by the dressage riders and four-in-hand drivers.
In the course of the horse show in Dutch Maastricht,
the coveted awards, given by the magazine L’Année
Hippique, have recently been handed over to Frank Kemperman,
General Manager of the CHIO-organiser Aachen-Laurensberger
Rennverein (ALRV), and to Helen Rombach, Authorised
Representative of the ALRV. “We are happy that
our team’s work is appreciated by the athletes
in such a way”, said Kemperman. “But now
we will not at all settle back cosily, but will instead
carry on investing into the quality of the CHIO Aachen,
just like we did in the past years.” In 2008,
the CHIO Aachen will be carried out from June 27th
until July 6th.
For the tenth time, the L’Année Hippique
Award has been bestowed by the dressage riders in 2007,
and for the tenth time Aachen is far ahead in the favour
of the athletes with 340 points, followed by Wiesbaden
(145 points) and Rotterdam (135 points). Also among
the drivers, the CHIO Aachen has been highly appreciated
during the last years: The traditional tournament has
won the fifth election -for the fifth time in series-
with 265 points in front of Beekbergen/Niederlande
(170) und Riesenbeck (100). In both disciplines, more
than half of all athletes that cast their ballots have
decided in favour of the CHIO. The L’Année
Hippique Awards for jumping and eventing tournaments
will, according to the awards’ rotation principle,
be bestowed again in 2008. In the fifth CHIO-discipline
vaulting, there is no election of the athletes.
