Fie Skarsoe to Leave Gestut Wiesenhof
November 2, 2006
Danish team rider Fie Skarsoe is leaving her employer Gestut Wiesenhof to become head trainer at Paul Kaiser's private stable in Luxembourg. German Grand Prix rider Andrea Landy will replace Skarsoe at Wiesenhof in Krefeld, Germany.
In an interview with German journalist Barbara Schnell, Skarsoe revealed this news. Schnell writes, "If you've seen Fie Christine Skarsoe and Münchhausen during the
intermission of the Grand Prix at the WEG in Aachen, cherish that
memory, for you won't see these two together again. As of today, Skarsoe
has quit working for the Gestüt Wiesenhof -- on the best terms with
manager Valerie Hüttner, she emphasized.
While Rhinish rider Andrea
Landy will continue competing the Wiesenhof horses, Skarsoe is moving to
Luxemburg, where Paul Kaiser, one of the co-organizers of the 2003 CDI
in Mondorf, has offered her a job at his dressage stable in Befort.
Partcipating in that three star event when it is held again in 2008 is
one of her long-term-goals, establishing a training base for Luxemburg's
dressage scene another hope for the future.
One thing won't change for
her, though: Jean Bemelmans, under whose aegis she made the Danish team
for the 2005 European Championships, will continue to be her "riding
coach, personal motivator and dear friend".
