Dressage Pony Dornick Son Sold to Denmark

October 7, 2004

The German bred dressage pony Dornick Son has been sold to Denmark. The 5-year old chestnut gelding by Dornick B x Bourbon was third at the 2003 Bundeschampionate as a 4-year old and sixth at the 2004 Bundeschampion in the 5-year old Dressage Pony division.

Through the mediation of Astrid Appels/Eurodressage, owner Klaus Wagner sold Dornick Son to the Danish Preben Dankau from Roskilde, Denmark. Dornick Son will be trained and competed by Julie Dankau, who will be professionally guided in her pony dressage career by Susanne and Lisbeth Seierskilde.

The Dankau family is ecstatic about their new purchase. "Dornick Son arrived late last Wednesday (2130) and we were there to receive him," Preben said. "He had managed the long trip quite well and Julie took him for a walk (20 min) in the ridinghall.  After that we put him in his new stall, where he immediately started eating and drinking.  He has adapted very well to his new surroundings and Julie started training on him Monday."

Dornick SonDornick Son will be a strong asset to the Danish dressage scene and if all goes well, Julie hopes to compete him at national level at the beginning of the 2005 show season. "The news travels fast in Denmark.  We were at a competition last weekend and a lot of people came and asked us about our new "star pony"," Preben Dankau said.

Lykønskning!
