Julia Katharina von Platen to Train Sprehe Dressage
Horses
January 6, 2002
German
Stallion Station Sprehe has attrackted a new rider to
reinforce their dressage team since the departure of
Sandra Kotter. 21-year old young rider Julia Katharina
von Platen will be training the dressage horses together
with Holga Finken.
Von Platen, who already runs her own dressage stable,
dressage stable Platenhof, with her mother Ute von Platen,
stands proof that German equestrian centres are interested
in young riders for their training team. Julia Katharina
von Platen is, however, not just one amongst hundreds.
Member of the German Junior and young riders team since
1999, Von Platen has a large collection of upper level
horses including Welfenprinz, Mocca, Foxtrott and Kira
K, all horses first trained by her mother.
Awarded with the Stensbeck Plaque, Von Platen will
be training licensing champions Ron William and K2 at
Sprehe in Löningen-Benstrup, Germany. Von Platen is
also often used by German pony breeders to show their
ponies at the German Bundeschampionate in Warendorf.
Von Platen was guest judge rider as well for the the
3-year old riding horse class at the 2000 Bundeschampionate.
