Diamond Fritz Sold to Dr Jorge de la Rocha
February 26, 2003
In a race to provide himself with top dressage horses
which can procure him a qualification for the 2004 Olympic
Games in Athens, Dr Jorge de la Roche purchased yet
another top quality dressage horse. After buying the
Oldenburg stallion Laudatio in October 2002, Brazilian
millionaire De la Roche now purchased Diamond Fritz,
the reserve champion of the 2002 Nurnberg Burgpokal.
Ridden and shown by Birgit Finken, Diamond Fritz is
a 9-year old Donnerhall x Gardeulan I offspring and
was bred by Mr. Kiorpes from Garbsen, Germany. As a
four year old, the dark bay gelding was sold at the
1997 Verden Elite auction under the name Diamond Donner
and soon came into training with Holga and Birgit Finken.
Birgit moved the horse up to Intermediaire I level and
booked great successes at Bremen, Hannover and Verden.
In the winter months, the gorgeous mount was ready to
compete at Intermediaire II level.
With Laudatio and Diamond Fritz, Dr Jorge de la Roche
has now two options for qualifying for the Brazilian
dressage team to represent the country in Athens.
