Gestion Silvano N and Diamond Hit Sold to Brookhouse
Stud
The
drama continues concerning the ownership of the Ducth
2002 Dressage Champion Gestion Silvano N. At the end
of August, the 16-year-old Holsteiner licensed stallion,
Gestion Silvano N, got sold to Paul Schockemoele in
a stock sale of the whole Gestut Im Niedern stallion
station. The owners of the Im Niedern, the Neff juniors,
no longer wanted to run the farm in Dreieich, Germany
and sold the property and all (!) horses to Paul Schockemoele.
Resident
trainer at Im Niedern is Dutch Ellen Bontje who suddenly
had no more horses to ride. Fortunately, Bontje received
permission to compete Silvano at the 2002 World Equestrian
Games but were dodged out of the competition after the
vet check. The bay stallion was irregular and got rejected
by the judges. Although Bontje attempted to buy a part
of Gestion Silvano N after his sale to Schockemoele,
it is Brookhouse Stud who closed the final deal. Buying
both Gestion Silvano N and the immensely popular Oldenburg
stallion Diamond Hit from Paul Schockemoele, Brookhouse
Stud now owns several top FEI Dressage stallions.
Brookhouse Stud is an English owned, yet German based

before moving to Germany in 1998, working and training
at Hofgut Neuhof with Ellen Bontje, the dressage silver
medallist in Sydney 2000, and Conrad Schumacher, the
renowned iInternational dressage trainer.
Thomas Hoffmann started working with horses when he
was 12 years old. He worked in Warendorf (the German
National Stud) for two years from 1995, achieving Pferdewirt
Zucht und Haltung during that time. He has since worked
in a range of disciplines within the equine industry,
gaining a wealth of knowledge in all aspects of horsemanship.
Also involved in Brookhouse Stud, and working as mediators
between Schockemoele and Brookhouse stud are Birgit
& Ulrich Henschke. Birgit Wellhausen-Henschke is a competition
sports rider and both she and her husband, the Kohler
