Birkhof's Alassio FBW Passed Away
With
great sadness did Gestut Birkhof in Donzdorf, Germany,
report that their star stallion Birkhof's Alassio FBW
passed away. Alassio FBW was a licensed Baden Wurttemberger
stallion who made an impressive but short show career.
The bay stallion (by Alabaster x Futuro x Makuba xx)
was bred by Josef Pfitzer and owned by his wife Beate
Pfitzer. Alassio stood up for stud at Gestut Birkhof
and was trained by Nadine Plaster.
Aboard Birkhof's Alassia FBW, Plaster built up an impressive
list of achievements. A 10th place at the Bundeschampionate
in 2001 as five-year old, a fourth place at the 2002
Bundeschampionate as six-year old, and a most impressive
fifh place at the 2002 World Championships for Young
Dressage Horses in the six-year old division.
With Alassio's death, a very talented sport horse and
breeding stallion passed away.
