Birkhof's Alassio FBW Passed Away

AlassioWith great sadness did Gestut Birkhof in Donzdorf, Germany, report that their star stallion Birkhof's Alassio FBW passed away. Alassio FBW was a licensed Baden Wurttemberger stallion who made an impressive but short show career. The bay stallion (by Alabaster x Futuro x Makuba xx) was bred by Josef Pfitzer and owned by his wife Beate Pfitzer. Alassio stood up for stud at Gestut Birkhof and was trained by Nadine Plaster.

Aboard Birkhof's Alassia FBW, Plaster built up an impressive list of achievements. A 10th place at the Bundeschampionate in 2001 as five-year old, a fourth place at the 2002 Bundeschampionate as six-year old, and a most impressive fifh place at the 2002 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in the six-year old division.

With Alassio's death, a very talented sport horse and breeding stallion passed away.
