Nicole Uphoff
leaves Gestut Vorwerk
Thirty-three
year old Nicole Uphoff has finally decided to start
on her own. With steady boyfriend Trevor Morgen, Uphoff
will begin her own business at the Weser-Ems Training
centre in Vechta, Germany. With this decision an important
partnership between the four time Olympic gold medallist
and the owner of Gestut Vorwerk, Gudula Vorwerk-Happ,
has come to an and.
Uphoff, who originally comes from Duisburg, was employed
at Vorwerk since March 1998. At the lovely breeding
centre in Cappeln Uphoff received highly decorated stallions
like Rubinstein I, Relevant and Regal Dancer in training.
"I want to continue riding Relevant if Gudula allows
me to, but I will no longer work at her barn," Uphoff
stated when the news was broadcast.
Her boyfriend Trevor Morgen is originally from New
Zealand and was employed at Paul Schockemoele's show
jumping barn. Currently Morgen is riding the young jumpers
at the Vechta Auction centre for the Oldenburg Verband.
Uphoff moved nine horses to Vechta including her divine
Westphalian Rembrandt (by Romadour II) and other stars
like River Blue, Ephedra S and Futurus. Uphoff also
takes care of the training of mount Rubino S, the approved
Trakehner stallion Friedensfurst (by Rondo) and Der
Brandenburger.
