German Olympic Dressage Team
Only
a few hours after the Grand Prix Special of the CDIO
Aachen, the German Dressage Team for the Olympic Games
in Sydney was announced. The German Olympic Equestrian
Committee (DOKR) selected at the recommendation of chef
d'equipe Madeleine Winter-Schulze and team trainer Klaus
Balkenhol the following combinations:
Nadine Capellmann with the 10 year old Westphalian
gelding Farbenfroh (by Freudentänzer), Alexandra
Simons-De Ridder with the Holsteiner bred Chacomo (by
Calypso I), Isabell Werth on her 17 year old Hanoverian
Gigolo FRH (by Graditz) and Ulla Salzgeber on the Latvian
Rusty (by Rebuss). Alternate is Heike Kemmer with the
Oldenburg gelding Albano (by Argentinus).
Reserve horses travelling to Sydney will by Capellmann's
Nikolaus and Gracioso and Isabell Werth's Anthony FRH.
All horses go into quarantaine August 8, 2000, in Kronberg,
Germany and fly to Sydney August 24.
