Tinne Vilhelmson's Just Mickey Put Down

June 22, 2006

Tinne Vilhelmson and Just MickeyThe Swedish Equestrian Federation has reported that Tinne Vilhelmson's Just Mickey has been put down this morning due to colic. Just Mickey suffered from an acute colic attack last Saturday and was immediately transported to the veterinary clinic. The gelding underwent a long operation at the University Equine Clinic of Uppsala and afterwards his condition was critical but stable. Unfortunately, Just Mickey was unable to recover and both owner and vet unfortunately were forced to decide that it was in the horse's best interest to put him done.

Tinne Vilhelmson and Just Mickey, a Dutch bred Michelangelo x Ulster offspring, were members of the bronze medal winning team at the 2005 European Dressage Championships in Hagen, Germany. They were twice Swedish National Dressage Champions and they were currently being considered for the Swedish team to compete at the 2006 World Equestrian Games.

The current Swedish short list for WEG includes Jan Brink/Björsells Briar, Louise Nathhorst/Guinness, Per Sandgaard/Memphis, and Kristian von Krusenstierna/Wilson. The Swedish team will be selected after the CDI Falsterbo.
