Granadero Passed Away

July 11, 2006

GranaderoEurodressage only recently discovered the passing of the Andalusian licensed stallion Granadero. The 19-year old stallion by Remate out of Bonita XXII suffered from a severe colic attack on March 3, 2006, and was transported to the equine clinic where he underwent surgery. Unfortunately, the grey stallion could not be saved and passed away.

Granadero was bred by Alvaro Domecq and owned by the Real Escuela Andaluza del Arte Equestre in Jerez de la Frontera. Under Ignacio Rambla, Granadero won the team bronze medal at the 2002 World Equestrian Games in Spain. In 2001, they finished on 11th place at the European Dressage Championships. They won the silver medal at the 2001 Spanish Dressage Championships.
