Bent Jensen's Rockefeller Passed Away
April 7, 2005
Bent Jensen's up and coming FEI dressage stallion Rockefeller has died unexpectedly on Sunday April 3, 2005, due to colic. Rockefeller was found in his stall with a severe colic on Sunday evening and immediately transported to the Ocala Equine Clinic, where he was operated on. Unfortunately, the colic was so severe that he had to be put down. Bent Jensen is deeply saddened by the loss of his top horse.
"He coliced on Sunday and underwent surgery, but due to the effect of a twisted colon he was not able to make it through the surgery. It is a great loss," Bent Jensen told Eurodressage.
Rockefeller was a 7-year old licensed Danish warmblood stallion by Rubinstein out of Karenagardens Louisiana (by Donnerhall). Jensen discovered Rockefeller as a 6-month old foal in Denmark and bought him together with his full brother Rushcutter.
Rockefeller was bred by Jytte Kolster and became an extremely successful young dressage horses under former Olympian Bent Jensen in the United States. In 2004, Jensen and "Rocki" became the Dressage at Devon CDI Fourth level High Point Champions and they were undefeated at fourth level during the Dressage and Florida show circuit.
