Andreas Helgstrand Fourth in Voting for Danish Sport Talent of the Year 2004

 Danish dressage rider Andreas Helgstrand placed fourth in a voting to become Danish Sport Talent of the Year, organized by Politiken, one of Denmark's biggest news papers. Winning the voting was the 14-year old Caroline Wozniacki, a rising star in the tennis world.
"Caroline wants to be become the best in the work and typically for her, she announces it a year ahead of time. I believe she represents a new age for Danish top tennis," said Preben Kragelund of Team Denmark, a member of the Sport Talent of the Year selection committee.
Andreas Helgstrand -- son of Ulf Helgstrand, the president of the Danish Equestrian Federation, and employed at Denmark's biggest stallion station Blue Hors in Randboel -- finished fourth with 12 points short of a victory.

- 8. Jeanette Ottesen - swimming - 17 years old - 12 points
- 9. Louise Hauge - archery - 26 years old - 9 points
- 10. Thomas Bjuring - karate - 23 years old - 4 points
Another Danish dressage rider, Jon D. Pedersen, has been put on the shortlist to become the Fyn Sportman of the Year. Citizens of the Danish island Fyn and viewers of the Danish tv stations TV2FYN were able to vote for Pedersen until January 7, 2005.
